Basswood x Wire

This project started with an exploration of nature, and coming away with one image that would guide the project for an entire semester. This is my image. I was struck by how the mushrooms grew from the bark and the patterns they formed.

Using the “bow-tie” motif found in my visual analysis of my original image and carried throughout the entire project, the observatory I designed focuses on people. Folded surfaces reflect people back onto themselves, as well as the people down the hill.
